i ran into the same problem. When I first installed seahorse it worked
out of the box with evolution just since the last upgrade of evo it
stopped working. I can still sign files directly with seahorse.
My ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf looks like this:

the bug is really old but still there as I got it here [0] right now
with 2.22.2-1.1 (amd64, lenny box).
The mails are downloaded and displayed local, so no imap cache or so. It

the network. The warning Roberto posted is "just" a warning so shouldn't
cause the problem. For me cups works fine after restarting the daemon.

If this works for you, its probably not a bug but a feature. A lot of
icons got removed by GNOME to clean up the interface.
