hi,
I've read this and like to give another perspective. Let me first
introduce myself to let you know, what my point of view is.
I use Debian since "Potato" was released. My first package was done
with Etch. The packages I've created were packages just for my own. It
has been 5 since then.
So, I
hi,
Just my two 2 cent: I would like to have an virtual package
"Database", to resolve some deps. So there hasn't be a question of
what database someone have to use.
Okay, the mainproblem here is not all packages have interface for
every database, but it could solve these questions

hi,
I can confirm this bug and reproduce it. In which version it is fixed?
Upstream fixed it as a backport to 3.5.x.
Thanks for helping.

hi,
maybe I could help, if you provide more infos. What I think:
Renaming is a move (create a new hardlink and delete the old one; on
condition that is the same volume), that why you need write access to
this dir. Further more the new hardlink will be created with the
primary group of the user.

hi,
I've solved it by myself. I took the source of the package, also the
build-deps.
Patched the source with this:
https://attachments.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=6869
and built the package. Works like a charme :)

Hi,
i like to contribute a patch for both init-scripts and
common-functions. The patch just replace some lsb functions with the
start-stop-daemon and uses ps aux to get pid of the daemon. Hope that
help and I don't miss anything :)

Björn

hi,
just an update. I set up a compile and test machine. The fix is not
solved in the upstream-repo-sources.

Hi,
net ads join works, but wbinfo does not (even wbinfo -p), so users
could not authentificated (getent works as expected). I used heimdal
with samba on Lenny. I downgraded samba, heimdal and winbind and it
also works instantly.

Hi,
same here. But all kernel-modules (drm, apgpart, intel-agp) are
loading. Downgrade to xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.13.0-2_i386 solved my
problem

hi,
Kai Blin told me, that has to do with the LSA secured Channel, which
gets broken and asked me to test a fix on this monday from the
repository. I can't compile samba on my own. the Makefile in source3
seems to change into source4 which was not compileable due to
undefined references.
So I can

I could. But I don't know which commit on 10.01.11 (or maybe earlier)
is the fix. I can not see which is that. All I can do is make a diff
between this time of commits and the state of the package, but I don't
