Sounds reasonable. Thanks for this hint, too!
package to depend on (or
maybe recommend) it only on kfreebsd-any.
But then again, this will likely disregard the rule that no package
should depend on a package with lower severity. (Not sure if that also
counts for Recommends, which are installed by default, at least after
the D-I.)
man-db package export that line depending on

So I'm thinking about reassigning this to the package "man-db".

downloads upstream tar balls, but fails to rename them if
debian/copyright is not in the machine-readable format.

Actually when I noticed that init-select goes into a different
direction than I expected, I started thinking about how to imp

I'm quite fine with it since the release where it started unapplying
patches at the end of a build if it also had to applied it in the

yeah, that's off-topic here. :-)
I've pushed an according patch into our packaging git repository, but

for what I did so far.
Downgrading severity to minor and tagging the bug with "help" as it's
not really important, probably more work than gain, but still a small
shortcoming.

(*) Since zsh-beta is merely a transitional dummy package in Jessie, I
tested not zsh-beta, but zsh. The closing version is though the
one of the according zsh-beta version to let the BTS get the
version tracking right.

erride_dh_installchangelogs is unnecessary. dh_installchangelog at
compat level >= 7 guesses the upstream changelog name. And it does
so correctly in this case.
Still have to look closer at copyrights and such stuff.

Followup-For: Bug #722989
Package: gsmartcontrol
Hi,
I just wanted to note that I can't reproduce this issue on my EeePC
900A running Sid i386. It throws some of the mentioned warnings, but works
as expected otherwise:
~ # gsmartcontrol

to import it to have the whole history, I can help. (Just have to
check where my local copy is as git.debian.org/anonscm.debian.org is
currently down due to hard disk issues.

If you're ok with it, an additional "cat /etc/apt/apt.conf

Thanks in advance.

Actually http://bugs.debian.org/729527 is
tp://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=688428#34
At least no error message.
The above mentioned message suggests that the 1-second timeout in
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20packagekit maybe just a too short time frame to
let DBus answer, hence the occasional timeout error.
