are you using EFI or standard bios ?
Do you know the resolution GRUB uses ?
You may get that kind of information from the grub commandline (hit C
from grub menu) by typing videoinfo or vbeinfo depending on grub mode.
The output of :
update-alternatives --display desktop-grub
could be use

I've also added xmllinting as autopkgtest so we don't let that kind of error
slip into desktop-base again.

I’ve also added a white version of the logo as I feel it would suit
better into the GDM theme.

repo.
You can put it in /usr/share/dput/dput/dput.py as a short-term workaround.
