I had the same issue.
Removing --compress-debug-sections from /usr/bin/dh_strip and
recompiling the package fixed it.

In that case could you please also put the libvdpau1 and libvdpau1:i386
packages in experimental ?
They're actually required to install nvidia-driver 352 and the only way we
currently have to install these updates is to pin these packages from
testing. (And actually we'd need them in backport
