Since the code change a section from a class template it will have an
impact on any client using this code. In other word some platforms
will FTBFS if -latomic is not added to the link line (technically

I have tested linux-image-kirkwood-4.0.0-2 from unstable and I can confirm

Control: blocks 711332 with -1
Please remove reference to w3c-dtd-xhtml from debian/control. This
package will be removed for stretch (see #711332), it has been
superseded by w3c-sgml-lib.

under the umbrella of the LTS team, I worked out a patch for libxml2
in squeeze(-lts).
The patch is very similar to the patch required for wheezy.
Please note: it hasn't been tested much, yet, it is more a request for
feedback.
