But the current package refers to the 3.12 branch which is, for the
most part, compatible with 3.14.

The ppc64el has been added to the Debian archive and is a release
candidate "in principle". Therefore it would be nice if this bug can be
fixed in the next days. If you lack time for that, I can also proceed
with an NMU.

This bug report is a duplicate to #713672.
Seems that patches are available for bugs to this package, but it needs
a DD to include them and upload new sources.
People from outside can't help any further, in spite of the calls
displayed while updating Debian packages.

This might be a theme issue (theme hasn't been updated to comply with
the latest changes in GTK+). Switch to Adwaita and see if the glitch
is still happening.
