Hi! I would like to supply some observations I made. I
found out that switching to the console and back to X can
cause the same error, so now I think all this is not at
all a bug of slim but a hardware problem, an error of X or
an error of the proprietary graphics driver that I am
using. Sorry

2.3.8 also includes an ABI regression. We'll be waiting for the 2.3.9
release before pulling this into Debian.

Severity: minor
Opening Thunar and clicking on the File menu reveals that both the "Open
New Window" and "Close" menu entries are using Ctrl-W as their shortcut.
This cannot be user error, since I have never played with redefining
keyboard shortcuts on this system

Hmmm... I think I see what could be the problem. Do you have the

The reason of the crash is a missing include in Xpmcreate.c (with a similar

An observation: with pidgin 2.4.3 I didn't have this issue. Reverting
to it now, as I am running this on a notebook ;-).

Hi Sid,
It was a first time setup for me as well.
I'll agree that it's partially a documentation issue, and that it's
arguable whether the issue I describe is a bug or a design decision on
behalf of the package maintainer. I'm leaning towards bug on this one ...

Icedove apparently auto wrapps long lines after signing the message, thus
making the signature invalid. Short mails or mails with short lines do not
suffer this issue.
