This should not happen. (And in the whole test-suite does not happen).
One should only see a lock-file iff:
1) reprepro segfaulted or otherwise was kill
I had the same problem as described. It disapeared on my system after
upgrading the libx11-6 from 1.0.3-7 to 1.1.5-2.

I've been having a similar problem trying to get lvm on raid booting
with root=UUID=...
I've managed to get it working as follows:
1. Copy /sbin/dmsetup to sbin in the initramfs.
2. Add lvm=vg0 to the kernel commandline
3. Apply the following:

Just a comment after reading #516578 - there is no indication that
reprepro is seg faulting with these errors, these are "normal" reprepro
errors where checksums fail and every time, reprepro has quit normally
(AFAICT) and left the lockfile behind.

not only lvm should run after multipath, but also mdadm as it is common
to mirror some SAN devices via mdadm as it is much cheaper than buying
this solution in hardware.
So mdadm/mdrun need multipath as PREREQ, too.

I received the same error

It was due to
~/.openoffice.org2/
being owned by root:root.
