looks like it actually DOES use glib, but doesn't have it's dependencies

Totem does not redraw window border areas not occupied by video to
black. There is fixed bug #242150 which apparantly dealt with that
problem on initialization, which does indeed seem to be fixed.
Borders are always initialized to black, but

The fragment of code listed by Peter De Wachter in the initial report
does not break pygame for me, but using "serif" instead does.
I traced the problem down to incorrect parsing of a fonts.dir file (as
opposed to a fonts.cache-1 file, as in the earlier case).
