Stangely, last time I checked it with my LFS machine, and there is no such
problem. However, today I checked with Redhat (glib 2.4.7, gtk 2.4.13),

I have a DVD writer on /dev/hdc and a cdrom writer on /dev/hdd.
Symlinks are properly created for /dev/dvd but the symlink for

Are you running getty on tty8? Pppstatus redirects stdin to /dev/null in
daemon mode: it can't see anything you type on that console. What happens
if you type something other than Control+PrintScreen?
