This bug fix appears to have moved MDADM's startup to before the
modules are loaded, thus breaking detection of any arrays which appear
on module-driven devices.

attached is a patch that prototypes a implemention of the new pdiffs
with index file as aba has implemented it on merkel. It works for
me(tm), but it still has some shortcomings. But I won't be able to
work on it in the next two weeks so I wanted to share the code with

I stuffed up the patch I sent yesterday, the remote display is out of sync
by one piece. Blergh. So I fixed it up and here's a better and cleaner
patch as a result. It completely supercedes the previous one I sent.
