got merged into master today.
So maybe you can merge it into your dkms package as well?

Dear maintainers,
I' m sorry to inform you that the proposed patch did not work for me on
Debian Bullseye.
However, I did recompile the package with latest patch from git:
https://github.com/dell/dkms/pull/192/files
and that did the trick!
