Currently, this bug is keeping fwupd 0.9.7 from migrating to testing.
Is this crash new with fwupd 0.9 or can you also reproduce it with
testing's 0.8.2-2?

Is this 100% reproductible for you?
Can you describe more about your machine?
I suspect this is an upstream issue, it may be useful to file it upstream so
that it can be debugged there.
