I'd like to make a revision. After further inspection, I discovered the
text box actually does exist, but it is very thin, not even tall enough
for a whole character to be visible.
It's a cosmetic issue, but it does make it difficult to insert an
annotation and nearly impossible to edit one.

I'm currently running GNOME 3. When attempting to add an annotation
using the context menu, the dialog is missing the text box into which
the user types their annotation. I can mark the verse; I just can't type
any annotation message.
