So I don't know... You might try a newer release from unstable, the upcoming
5.0 beta4 (you can grab it from our git, and checkout the experimental branch),
or report it upstream.
the problem is likely not Debian specific.

sorry to disappoint you, but I think it's not a dupe. As far as I can
see, that would mean changing the 3D acceleration status fixes my
problem, right?
But this doesn't change anything.

Hi Ritesh, nope, this is actually a dupe of 763610 and launchpad 1307093.
It is tracked as upstream issue 11938, can you please test virtualbox from
unstable or the upcoming 5.0.0beta4 from DebOMatic (I uploaded it a few seconds
ago)
