Anyway, as far as GTK+3 is concerned, the bug is fixed in version 3.14.

Follow-up: geany is GTK+2 app (more to the proof that GTK+3 isn't the culprit),

By the list of libgtk-3-0 dependencies in your system, I conclude you're using
Sid.
Among these packages is libglib2.0-0 2.41.5-2. I think this is the real culprit.
