According to AMD, there is a regression in the AMD Catalyst driver that should
prevent that combination:
- 13.11 Beta V9.4 - Linux kernel 2.6 o

Would you mind trying the linux 3.12 kernel? That is in jessie now
Unfortunately, the issue is still there.
With version 1:13.12-2 I still get the same error output in
/var/lib/dkms/fglrx/13.12/build/make.log as in my previous message.
Cheers

thanks
Unfortunately, the issue is still there with fglrx 13.12. I just tested
it with kernel 3.11 on an i386 system and got the following error output:
DKMS make.log for fglrx-13.12 for kernel 3.11-0.bpo.2-486 (i686)
Mit Jan 1 16:30:23 CET 2014
make: Entering directory `/usr/src/
Same problem here.
@Alex Andreotti: When I edit the file, as you suggested, and run `m-a a-i
fglrx`again, I get the same error. When I look in the file, my changes has been
reverted.

As a workaround (suggested somewhere) just patched
modules/fglrx/kcl_iommu.c:KCL_IOMMU_CheckInfo() to return 0.
It build and seem to work (desktop's windows seem to refresh correctly
and acceleration is enabled).

Package: fglrx-driver
Version: 1:13.8~beta1-3
Followup-For: Bug #729765
Dear Maintainer,
today I've upgraded fglrx-driver and got this same problem (iommu while
building the module).
A binary version of the driver seem to be loaded (from Xorg log) but it is very
slow refreshing desktop's window

Unfortunately not. I just tested with wheezy and linux 3.10 from the
official backports and the issue is still there, dkms fails with the
error message given in the inital bug report.
