According to upstream, it had been fixed in 1.14.4-1.
Atril doesn't crash anymore in current Stretch.

Control: affects -1 evince atril
Still happens in current Debian Testing. Atril (MATE document viewer,
Evince fork) crashes with similar backtrace on a certain PDF [1]:
