Seems ibus in Squeeze supports xkb (not all keys, typically not Shift
variants), but not AltGr.

After selecting hi-phonetic in ibus, in Gnome-shell, expected characters
according to /usr/share/m17n/hi-phonetic.mim are not produced for symbols
