Tested 3.5.0-rc7+, boots up the same way, with the backlight off. Adding i915.invert_brightness=1 makes it turn the brightness up to the maximum as expected, however this is pretty ugly. Without this parameter, I can just turn the brightness up with the fn keys and I get the nice on-screen indicato
