I am experiencing too.
The only workaround so far seems to be to deactivate the translation
memory plugin (suggested by running gtranslator under gdb).

I did some further inspection and it is not pure gtranslator's error,
because under fresh account it works as expected.
I do not remember time, when it stop to work, because it happens relative
long time (some weeks) ago, but it can be update related.
I tried to do some know (for me) things,
