gnome-terminal is ignoring the Alt key, so text-mode emacs is unusable.
It works correctly in xfce4-terminal which still uses libvte9.

The Alt key doesn't behave like before in gnome-terminal since I upgraded
from 3.2.1-1 to 3.2.2-1. Alt used to behave like Meta in programs like
the Midnight Comm
