I get the same problem, both this error on setup and "user error: (Bad
response: 0)" from any command (eg lsarchive).
I have another machine that running squeeze instead of sid. I tried
1.0.6 there it works fine. I downgraded to 1.0.

Try running the setup with -d and let's see what you get. You might
also try it with an alternate twitter.com account and with an identi.ca
account and see what happens there.
