Dear gtk-qt-engine maintainter,
I'd like to confirm that with gtk-qt-engine 1:1.1+svn5-4
emacs23 (23.2+1-4) uses nearly 100% of cpu (on one of two cores),
while without gtk-qt-engine all is fine.
Another odd thing that was resolved by removing gtk-qt-engine is that
following html links to iceweas
reassign 582609 gtk-qt-engine
affects 582609 emacs23
thanks

With a fresh user account, even with the GUI it behaves normally.
Every time I test, I move my .emacs away in

Can you reproduce this in "emacs23 -nw" as well? Also, does it happen
with a fresh user account?

Please retry with "emacs23 -Q" and show the output of
aptitude versions
Package: emacs23
Version: 23.2+1-2
Severity: important
Emacs with the default configuration (i.e. without any .emacs),
without any opened buffers and completely idle is hammering the cpu,
top shows it permanently over 90%.
