An earlier respondent mentioned the hang occuring with the "host" command as
well.
I have an Alpha PWS-433au running 4.5.0-rc4 (compiled from the stock
"kernel.org"

Hi,
on kfreebsd dig does the requests and prints the answers as expected,
but it doesn't exit properly, it just hangs there:
| wea...@fano:~$ dig www.debian.org +short
| 128.31.0.51
[and just hangs here, doesn't exit]
