Hi Brian!
vmtoolsd works for me by providing the correct plugin directory and by
stating the full path:
/usr/bin/vmtoolsd --plugin-path /etc/vmware-tools/plugins --background
/var/run/vmtoolsd.pid
For some reasons vmtoolsd searches in "/usr/lib/open-vm-tools/" and not
"/usr/lib/open-vm-too
vmtoolsd also exits immediately. Seems to be missing something.
