First of all, thanks for providing support on such an old issue: I
wasn't expecting this since I completely forgot that I filed this bug
:).
Back to topic.
I am now running Totem 3.0.1-8 on a Debian Testing, still on the same
machine, a Thin

Just a quick update on surround sound support with totem, and with
stereo speakers.
I actually succeeded in playing a 5.1 surround video through my stereo
speakers, but that involved the vdownmix alsa plugin and was messy at
best.
When surround sound is activated through the use of vdownmix there'
