about the depedencies of vlc, doing ldd on /usr/bin/vlc is not
sufficient because vlc loads its modul

Now both VLC (on the host and chroot) are using the very same libraries.
Verified with:

I'm currently using 0.9.9a (testing). I had the same problem with the
previous version which was 0.8.6 IIRC. I won't swear but I think this
happened just after a xorg update.
Note also that I have no problem with all other video players (totem,
mplayer).
