Thanks for your help. An update for i386 is now included as version
1.4.6-7+b1 in Debian Lenny 5.0.1. No other architectures were affected.

I've found at least one song on which mp3gain reports completely wrong
values. This only occurs on i386 systems, amd64 reports the correct
values.
