Hi Christoph,
I have been going through some of the old bug reports for Inkscape in
Debian. You reported the following some time ago:

I wasn't able to reproduce this problem using
inkscape_0.48.1-
Some additional information I received while trying to work
aroung on #inkscape | freenode: There seem to be no effect filter
working. I have now installed all *python* suggests.

Hi!
Inkscapes Effect->Color->Grayscale convertor fails to convert [0]
into Grayscale (does not show any effect). The Image is valid SVG 1.0
according to W3C's validation service [1].
