I can confirm that `sudo invoke-rc.d docvert-converter start` is
returning correctly on Lenny using your updated initscript. (As for
Kamen, it was previously not returning for me).

I have to manualy send process in background using Ctrl+Z and bg if I
want to continue using my terminal
