The bug is real, serious and unfixed. According to my reading of
http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer, the bug shouldn't be closed yet:
it's confirmed, upstream, but not yet fixed (I don't even know what will
it take to fix the underlying bug in wxGTK yet).

While focused in the text input field, Ctrl + Up/Down shourtcuts don't work.
It moves up and down the list of messages in 1.3.9, but it doesn't work
with 1.4.1. It instead moves cursor to start and end of the text.
