/etc is for system configuration files (see the FHS). In fact I believe the
current setup violates the FHS, so I'm raising the severity.
Please move the font files to /lib/splashy, which is consistent with the way
lots of other packages do it.

There is a reason why splashy and splashy-themes both install fonts
under /etc. The reason is that Splashy starts early at boot before
/usr is mounted. We cannot use fonts from /usr (or any other file for
that matter). /etc is the only location that is guarantied to exists
during early boot.

available in the ttf-freefont package. Please use that version instead.
