Dear Michael, Yes, I have the build-depends ok; IMHO the problem comes from the search path for kde libraries, that should include /usr/lib !? Indeed, I just got ./configure working --with-kde using: KDEDIR=/usr/lib dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot FYI: % ls -l /usr/lib/libkio.la /usr/lib/kde3/plug

Trying to recompile tora-1.3.18 on debian/unstable [kde 3.4.2] (I remove the --without-oracle), I got: % dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot ./.. ./configure --prefix=/usr --without-rpath --disable-new-check --with-kde ./.. using lib directory suffix 64 checking for KDE... configure: error: in the prefix
