I have the same problem, too. It started after i apt-get upgraded to
version 4.40.11-1 from 4.39.xxx
After the following line a new process is created:
Apr 28 12:41:34 MailScanner[17440]: MailScanner child dying of old age

Version: 4.40.11-1
Severity: important
After a seemingly random amount of time mailscanner stops checking
email, I do not know if it happens only with postfix. mail ends up just
sitting in the hold queue (per the instructions for using it with
postfix). Unfortunately I am no
