Since i've added the following parameter to my /etc/esound/esd.conf
file, the problem is not present anymore ...
default_options=-as 3
I don't know if the bug has to be closed.

Because I have a customized kernel, i've just recompiled it so that
everything related to the sound was loaded as module and not hard
compiled.
It did not changed anything. Esd is still eating 100% of my memory after
trying to play a sound (new mail from evolution) and after resuming from
suspend-

Hi,
I don't know if the problem is really coming from esd. Since 5 days,
when my laptop wakes up (using apm suspend to ram), esd runs at 100% of
the cpu. The only solution is to kill the esd process.
I did not see anything in the apt-listchan
