Hi Bastian, your locale is C, which means ASCII charset, hence no accents, umlauts and fancy stuff. Export LANG=de_DE, or [EMAIL PROTECTED], or LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, before starting FreeMind and you'll be able to enter Umlauts and the same. You can create a file freemindrc with e.g. "export LANG=de
