Bug#1072233: mosh: use wtmpdb to write wtmp entries

2024-05-30 Thread Alex Chernyakhovsky
block 1072233 by 1072237 thanks I agree with Keith -- marking the relationship with the src:libutempter but, but leaving this one open to track potentially doing a binary rebuild if a binNMU doesn't happen automatically. Sincerely, -Alex

I think Mosh would be happy to support this transition, but Mosh doesn't write to utmp/wtmp itself or with a PAM module; Mosh uses libutempter for this. If libutempter is going to be updated to use wtmpdb, I don't think Mosh itself has to change. Sincerely, Keith On Thu, May 30, 2024 at 11:49 AM

Source: mosh Severity: important Per the discussion on debian-devel, Debian will switch to wtmpdb for Y2038-safe wtmp recording. If your package writes wtmp entries, please switch to libwtmpdb. https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2024/04/msg00406.html Chris
