this fixed the color artifacts for me:

i am using Debian GNU/Linux testing, GNOME.
every package from flathub that uses GTK 3 displays text with subpixel
antialiasing, while the system antialiasing is set to grayscale in dconf (the
default).
users of other distros don't report this error.
