Bug#430429: hplip: new major version 2.7.7 available in Ubuntu

2007-09-16 Thread peles
Hi all, Let me add my voice to the kind request to package version 2.7 for Debian? Since this package is already in Ubuntu it should be straightforward (I guess). There are many new printers that do not work with the version currently available in Debian. You can also merge bugs #413225, #430

This bug is still present in Etch, so perhaps it should get tag "etch" rather than being closed altogether. Ideally, it should be fixed in stable, as well, but if that is too much to ask, then at least this bug report should be kept open during etch's lifetime, since it contains the workaround.

I experience almost the same problem when I do apt-get upgrade. When downloading packages to be upgraded I get all of a sudden "404 Not Found" error message. To complete upgrade I have to run 'apt-get upgrade' several times and eventually all packages are downloaded. This happens on a powerpc
