oh. I thought that since the kernel in stable is the 3.2.0, mine (3.6.9)
wouldn't be too outdated...
I hadn't updated it yet since last time I tried a newer kernel, some
cpufreq stuff had dissapeared, and I couldn't find the files to customize
the cpufreq governors...
but I'll install the latest
ext file, so... perhaps a little bash scripting saves muy life... )

ok, since I also know nothing about XUL, i'll try disabling extensions one

first try is ABP, since is the only common extension we (Leo and me) are
using.
the ram use looks stable at 720 Mb (lower than before, but not enough
ext (i have enough of them to not show in a single
screenshot)

i had the same bug. i solved it by adding my user to xsane and scanner
groups.
however, it woud be a good idea that it came working 'out of the box',
instead of having to modify some files.
