You are correct. F6 freezes the mouse (the touchpad) in all applications, and
the command is built into the F6 key. (It was not added by me.)

(1) F6 does not do anything at all. It does not switch to another soundcard, or
give me a list of them, even when I have a USB soundcard attached and there are
clearly other working sound cards.
(2) My mouse stops working. It freezes where it is, and I have to reboot to
correct the problem.
In fact, I purged it.
