The two hexdumps below show the mbr
before and after the Sarge installer partitions the drive. The "after" partition
is garbled in a suprisingly orderly way (some columns are filled with
alternating hex values). The partitioner (and cfdisk 2.12) can read the
partition, but wri
27;55AA' (which I believe marks the end of the partition table for a bootable partition).
So my question to the list is; Is it OK to use the above-mentioned cat-hexdump-morecommand, or am I deceiving myself somehow? TIA,
