it turns out that (Cygwin) compilation no longer needs the large file
API to be disabled. Hence I re-enabled it and released version 1.16.0.

the buildd log scanner currently outputs false positives regarding the "W
-compiler-flags-hidden" tag (see https://qa.debian.org/bls/bytag/W-compiler-
