Steps to reproduce:

2. aptitude purge libapache2-mod-php5
actual result:
error during purge operatoion:

Removing libapache2-mod-php5 ...
Module php5 disabled.
Run '/etc/init.d/apache2 restar
I've just tested it with the newly available kernel image in the
unstable branch (linux-image-2.6.31-1-686) and with that am getting the
following dmesg output:

The output with the manually compiled driver in dmesg was as follows:
