I have the same problem for a while, and I have to say that for me it is
really annoying. If I switch windows with Ctrl+Tab, I have to click the
window in order to get the focus of it. Even with browser tabs, the
problem is the same

I have the same problem. I uninstalled the package, and reinstalled it,
and it does not make the configuration questions. Using dpkg-reconfigure
only asks about framebuffer, keyboard and the emulations of buttons in mouse.
