Yes Dmitri it happens. Perhaps it is closed if upstream can be told that any
program, especially something like an editor which one relies on, should not
write your configuration files for you. There should even be an option to not
write the filepos, history files, etc. that it already writes
I found the culprit! It is a file named mc.macros which somehow got into my
/root/.local/share/mc directory. It contains the following:

I went to /var/log/ and pressed F3 on dpkg.log, then I
pressed / to search. I entered vi in the search box, and it
froze up. I had to do a 'pkill grep' to get out of it.

I have a similar set of errors running deluge-gtk, which seem to be related to
its connection with the deluge daemon. If classic mode is not disabled in
deluge-gtk and the daemon is running, deluge-gtk crashes on startup. With
classic mode disabled ( in preferences > interface ) it still
