been doing mostly fine without net-tools but this hit me when I pulled
in runit-services, unintentionally, during an upgrade.

I can confirm that it breaks one of my CI jobs.
When the file you're trying to divert does not exist, there is nothing
to be done, so, yes, that should be assumed as being okay.
FWIW, I haven't tested the patch.

The /usr/lib/avahi/avahi-daemon-check-dns.sh script call ifconfig
and route in its dns_reachable() function. These utilities are
part of the net-tools package but avahi-daemon does not declare

get things to work under systemd: remove the `export` or configure in
places where systemd looks. I prefer /etc/default/, where quite a
