I should add that I've also found some incorrect symlinks:

Yup, tried with linux-image-5.17.0-1-686_5.17.3-1_i386.deb a few moments
ago, unfortunately, the problem still persists.

This bug doesn't exist in this version, that is currently in stable:
$ apt show supertux
Package: supertux
Version: 0.6.2-1+b2
Priority: optional
Section: games
Source: supertux (0.6.2-1)
Maintainer: Debian Games Team
Installed-Size: 4,877 kB
Depends: supertux-data (= 0.6.2-1), libboost-filesyste
I think this circular dependency causes a problem with debfoster: it
tries to remove vim-gtk3 (and, probably, any package that depends on
libruby2.7) if ruby is not set as a keeper.

GPU locked up, screen turned off and then all the system became
unresposive (couldn't even ssh to it). There was no way to reliably
reproduce this issue.

Hello, Salvatore.
I've just tested two kernels from debian backports for Buster, namely
linux-image-5.10.0-0.bpo.5-686_5.10.24-1~bpo10+1_i386 (non-pae) and
linux-image-5.10.0-0.bpo.5-686-pae_5.10.24-1~bpo10+1_i386 (pae).
I've used the very same laptop for this test, literally not a single

Oh, thank you! It was indeed the case. I've installed startpar from
testing and inded, such a command now finish
